TNNA Recap

posted by: Amy Small in cast away, tradeshows

It has been a crazy awesome week at Knit Collage! As you may have noticed, we just launched a new website that we could not be more excited and happy about. Finally, it feels like the yarn and who we are matches our online presence. On top of that, we travelled to Columbus for a big yarn tradeshow where knitting store owners from all over show up to see new yarns & patterns. It is always so much fun catching up with old friends and meeting new store owners. This year we will be shipping yarn to Seattle & Montana this fall- 2 new locations for us! Be sure to check out our new yarn, Cast Away available for wholesale purchase now. Check out the recap in photos below too!

The pom pom chandelier was a hit!

Wall of Pixie Dust lusciousness.

Favorite cowl by Tangled Handknits & Purl Bee hat in Sister yarn.

Got interviewed by the peeps from New Stitch A Day and felt famous for 2 minutes!

Lots of interest in weaving with our yarns- perfect example in this bag done with Pixie Dust & Maharani Silk.

This pattern was a hit with buyers! Featured in our new yarn Cast Away.

At the end of each day my sister and I spent $2 to visit these surprisingly great massage chairs. Money well spent I think!

Handerbeit + Hobby Show in Cologne, Germany

posted by: Amy Small

Trammel & I just finished up another tradeshow, called Handerbeit + Hobby, in Germany. As usual, it was a fantastic time. We caught up with the stores we sell to internationally and spent time with our US yarn friends at Artyarns, Koigu, Habu & Be Sweet.

Most excitingly, we teamed up with a new distributor who will make ordering our yarns much easier throughout Europe. If you are interested in ordering our yarns (wholesale only!) please email our new distributor at info@lyy.de or visit their site www.lyy.de They also speak German, added bonus! Any questions, feel free to contact me as well at amy@knitcollage.com

Below are some photo highlights from the show, our booth, European friends and other inspiring knitted things we spotted at the show!

Yup, there was an amazing knitted tee pee in rainbow colors. NEED. Photo from Be Sweet.

Inside the tee pee! Pic from Habu.

Spotted at the show- words of wisdom!

Our tiny booth!  We shared this with Artyarns.

My Pixie Dust table. Looked scrumptious.

Barbara, our new European distributor and I! She was a huge help with all of the German speaking customers.

Wilbert & I. Wilbert owns a fabulous shop in Holland called Schouten Handwerken. He has made many pretty things with our yarns.

This shawl with a Pixie Dust border was a show stopper! If you're interested in seeing more pics of this project, visit the Ravelry page here. Sadly, the pattern is only available in German.

The Winter TNNA Recap

posted by: Amy Small

Trammel & I just returned to Boston from a warm and sunny trip to California! We had so much fun at the The National Needlearts Tradeshow catching up with old friends and of course showing off all of our newest yarns and patterns. The weather was a welcome break from our New England winter but that said, it's nice to be home with all the snowfall from Nemo still here. Here are some pics of our booth and Trammel & I with our knitting friends.

Mini dresses in Pixie Dust!

These patterns coming soon!

My favorite kitty hat.

With Nadine of Be Sweet Yarns!

Talking yarns, patterns and other awesome stuff with Fab Judy, Army of Knitters & Be Sweet.

All of our new yarns.

Getting silly with Tricky of Tricky Knits!

We spent a few days in San Fran after the show. It's got to be one of my most favorite cities. We had a blast!
