THE WHY

Knit Collage began when I (Hi, I'm Amy!) fell in love with hand spinning long ago. I started to design trim filled happy yarns on my wheel. It felt like a coming home to a creative childlike self that had been stamped out as I grew up in a world that celebrates sameness. The company began when on the advice of a yarn store owner, I decided to take my first yarn collection to an industry tradeshow. A few (and I mean a very small you few!) shops bought the collection and boom, I was in business!

At the heart of Knit Collage is the idea that making things changes us in countless positive ways –my favorite being that it brings us back to our authentic, creative selves. Each time we choose yarns and designs that resonate with us, they help free us and bring us back to that creative kid, who’s totally still inside there! Our patterns and yarns are all about inspiring and freeing you creatively so that you feel more inclined to just do you.  Beyond that, leaning into knitting or crochet, helps us feel more relaxed and confident and it’s a way to connect to others who just get us!
