Getting Creative with our Pixie Dust Yarn

posted by: Amy Small in cowl & scarf patterns, pixie dust, sister yarn

It has been a crazy week here at Knit Collage- I think it's just that time of year! We've been as busy as bees shipping yarn out all over the world. Yesterday we shipped two big boxes to Unravelled in Sydney, Australia and today two more boxes will go out to Gossamer Knitting in Oregon.  Craziness aside, we somehow still found time to give you another beautiful gem of a pattern. Today we welcome the Dash Scarf pattern by Cheryl Kubat to the Knit Collage collection. Cheryl has come up with a new way to use our bulky, sparkly Pixie Dust yarn in this scarf. Instead of knitting it, she's woven it throughout her knitting. The end result is sheer awesomeness! To find out more about this pattern, click here. You'll need 2 skeins of our Sister yarn and 1 skein of Pixie Dust. I don't know about you but I think this is my pic of holiday gift knitting this year!

A gorgeous scarf pattern that may actually get you excited about winter!

I couldn't be more excited about releasing this pattern today! The Wavy Feather Scarf pattern combines our newest and softest yarn Cast Away, with a subtle wavy pointelle stitch. The result is a luscious scarf that will actually get you excited about winter! I should know, I've been wearing it nonstop since I knit it up. The scarf is long and wide, perfect for wrapping around your neck as many times as you like. The pattern calls for 3 skeins of yarn but you could use 2 for a shortened version.  The color shown here is Nomad and the pattern is available here.

A new take on the Cozy Cast Away Wrap Pattern

posted by: Amy Small in cast away, cowl & scarf patterns

Ever since we released the Cozy Cast Away Wrap pattern by Cheryl Kubat, I've been itching to make one for myself! This past Sunday, on the first free day I'd had in a very long time, I was able to finally cast on. I decided to make mine slightly shorter than the original one and added fringe along the pointed edges. Of course, I love the way it came out and can't wait to wear this all winter long. The Cast Away yarn color I used is Sunrise Collage and the pattern is available here you'll need 3 skeins too.
