The Openwork Kimono Cardi

I decided to try this cardi pattern after meeting the designer, Karen Clements of Knit 1 LA at the last TNNA in Feb. She was wearing her sample and it looked so cute, I was sold! I knit mine up using 3 skeins of our Sister yarn and opted against the contrast waistband or ribbon for closure. However, when I wear this I think I’ll use a shawl pin or belt it. The openwork stitch looks so rustic and irregular in our Sister yarn, which I love. It lends the finished sweater that handmade, handspun feeling. I can’t wait to wear this when I finally get over this cold that’s got me down! For me details on my project, visit the ravelry page here. I've also just sent Karen some yarn to work with and can't wait to see what she comes up with...stay tuned!
