Fall 2022 Make-along ~ the why of it all and how to join!

posted by: Amy Small

It was such a treat reading about all the styles that are calling to you for this make-along! In this final video, I go into detail about why knitting has been so life-changing for me and what that experience has been like for past make-along (MAL) participants. I truly believe in knitting’s potential to enhance our lives in so many ways. Whether we pick up knitting (or crochet!) to relax, flex our creativity, express ourselves, find joy, or all of the above, it is truly a craft of transformation and growth, which is why I love to embark on these MALs together! Do not miss the video below.

A few exciting details too - you get access to all 4 main MAL patterns/video tutorials + the bonus patterns (plus the videos for the Kaleidoscope Cardi) + help zoom sessions + community + mindfulness. The kits will go live on our site at 10am ET on Wednesday, October 12th and will be available for one week only. These 4 main MAL patterns will be available to MAL participants only for about 12 months.

Every season, we think we have enough yarn, and every time we sell out of certain colors super quickly. Part of this is because the process of spinning and making these yarns is intense and we have to order very far in advance before we know what’s sold from the previous season. I want to encourage you to order early just to be safe - ESPECIALLY if you have your heart set on the Starfall or Wonderland designs. These use our newest yarn that I do not have that much of. It’s so hard for us to know what everyone will like most - it’s never what we expect and I was not planning to have two designs in the MAL that called for this yarn! We will have kits available for all of these bonus patterns too: Inner Beauty Shawl, Kaleidoscope Cardi, Winding Road Cardi and the Daisy Chain Cardi. Peruse all the available colors and photos here.

Thank you so much. We have poured so much into this MAL as a team and just cannot wait to get started! If you have a question, feel free ask me here or leave a blog comment.

I'd love to hear from you! Amy

FALL 2022 MAL INTRO ~ THE DESIGNS!

posted by: Amy Small

Hi there! I’m excited to share all of the styles, color, fit and pricing details for our upcoming make-along (MAL) with you today. In the video below I walk you through the yarn, how it is made, how and where I teach and style info for each of the 4 chosen MAL designs. There's a lot! After the video, I dive into fit, pricing and color details in the blog post below. If you like, you can peruse all the color options early too!

Remember I teach you everything you need to know to knit or crochet your piece from start to finish in the video tutorials. If these styles feel complicated, not to worry, we got you!  If you stick to my rough schedule, which is totally achievable, you will complete your design in 8 weeks time or less.  Many past participants knit their very first sweater with us. If these prices seem high to you, please remember that there is so much more that comes along with this MAL than just your yarn and a pattern. The tutorials are a labor of love that I work so hard on - we have over 90 videos in total across all the designs! They are yours forever to come back to anytime. Designing, tech editing and testing each pattern takes a small village - especially the sweaters which all include 9+ sizes. We also offer lots of opportunities for you to get help on zoom and within our FB community when you need it. When you buy just one kit, you will have access to all 4 of the patterns and their relevant course videos, plus the bonus patterns (see below). I may even have a surprise bonus pattern and event up my sleeve....stay tuned!

You can view all the color options and detailed design photos here. Fit, size and pricing details listed out below!

Please keep in mind we have a different way to pay on my site, called Afterpay and Shop Pay. These options allow you to pay in 3 -4 interest free increments rather than 100% all at once. There is no extra interest or cost, just an alternative way to pay. I discovered this to be very helpful as a payment method on some of my favorite sites.

Starfall Cardi

Meet the Starfall Cardi! A true statement piece, this design brings the art of crochet and simple garter stitch knitting together in a unique, bohemian way. The silhouette is free and easy to wear. The fringe is optional and totally up to you to decide if you'd like to add it. This design is all about inspiring you to dive deep into your creativity to create colorful granny squares that just feel like you! This design calls for our newest yarn, the Spun Cloud Light, it's skinnier and lighter than anything we've done before! If you are new to crochet, or knitting not to worry, we'll guide you in step by step videos and help sessions so you know exactly how to make this stunning design!

Also like we offered in the spring, we'll be giving a way a few make-along scholarships to those that are just unable to join in. You can email us at anytime (hello@knitcollage.com) to put your name on that list, no questions asked. If you wish to donate a kit to someone who wants to join in but can't, we'll have a way to do that too. We'll match any gift that is given so that your donation goes twice as far. Recipients are chosen completely at random - in previous MALs we've donated around 20 kits!

Lastly, the virtual option will be $88. With this option you get all eight of these patterns, 5 teachable classes yours forever (Starfall Cardi, Wonderland Sweater, Inner Beauty Cardi, Gotta Be Hooded Scarf and the Kaleidoscope Cardi), bonus patterns, community via zoom, IG and FB and the mindfulness practices and a few fun special events!

That is all she wrote friends! Please reach out with any questions at all and let me know in the comments below what you're thinking of making! We are able to do custom color kits for you if you like - although they will have to be placed on the phone to ensure we have the colors and inventory you would like as we are low on some of our yarns. Ask me anything via a new fun app I'm trying on Video Ask and I will respond privately and directly to you there. Click the link here to ask away! Join me on Instagram Saturday, Oct 8th at 3:30pm ET to go deep into each design. For all of these styles, just a basic knowledge of knitting and crochet is needed. I so hope you'll consider joining in! The kits go live on Wednesday October 12th at 10am ET and will be available for one week only. Last time we sold out of many colors within hours, so I encourage you to use this post to help decide early. We have very little in our new Spun Cloud Light yarn. Then we get knitting and crocheting :)

I CANNOT WAIT!

Intro to the Fall Make-along!

posted by: Amy Small

The fall make-along (MAL) is ALMOST HERE and I so hope you'll consider joining me! This MAL we'll build on what we created last spring and go further. My goal is to serve you with so much value - bonuses, zoom help sessions and tutorials galore. As always, my hope is that by creating, connecting and taking time out for ourselves, we'll be able to cope just a little better with whatever daily and world stresses we are wrestling with. Get ready for all of this while having a whole lot of fun too!

Many past participants shared invaluable feedback from the last MAL, much of which we are implementing for this fall's event. We'll be upping our virtual community in new and special ways which means more opportunities to share, connect and cheer each other on. Also new this fall, we're planning a bigger bent on accountability which helps you keep your making mojo going strong. I'll be leading an optional journaling workshop and challenge too. For those of you who like the yoga element, you'll be taking an all level restorative class from moi! I am a newly certified yoga teacher. The classes are all about relaxation, if you want to just sit and breathe with us, fantastic!

In the next video, coming out on Friday, you'll get more info into the exact yarns and designs, shown above. I will have an accompanying blog post with color options, fit and pricing details so that if you decide to pick your style and color in advance, you can! This is also a great opportunity for you to email us any questions that might come up. We are happy to help with custom color ways, although each style has around 15-20 color options, so hopefully there is something that will excite you available already too! If you want to peruse the winning styles in more detail now, follow the link here

I so hope you'll consider joining in. Let me know in the comments what it would feel like to complete a knitting project that filled you with confidence, joy and creativity. I am so excited for it! AND If you are a beginner knitter or crocheter, this is for you. Our team plus the video tutorials are there to guide and support you. When you're starting out, you need the most help and support - that's what our MALs are all about!

If you have a question, please ask away using a new tool I'm trying out called Video Ask. Ask me anything here and I'll respond to you by video - it's so awesome! Link here to try it out and ask me something :)
