Winter Solstice ~ Yarn Calendar 2026

Introducing the Winter Solstice 2026 Yarn Calendar. This yarn calendar is a limited edition, artfully handspun, creative fiber treat created to bring a little extra joy into your life or into the life of someone that you care about!

The inspiration for this years kits have come from my recent travels, books and artwork. I am BEYOND excited about the three colorways I've dreamed up for this year’s kits: Chagall Meets the Sea, Garden Trellis, Starfall.

Each Winter Solstice Calendar will come with 12 handspun yarns that are completely unique, never been made before / never to be made again designs. The skeins will be thoughtfully wrapped in beautiful custom wrapping paper and numbered so you know which yarn present to open first and so on. Two of the three colorways - Chagall Meets the Sea and Garden Trellis - will be spun in a circular gradient. This means that each yarn color flows perfectly into the yarn before it and the yarn after it. If you arranged them in a circle, they'd all flow together! The third colorway - Starfall - is more of an exploration into night sky monochromatic and iridescent dreamscape. All three coloways will feature yarns that will together as a capsule collection. 

Like last year each colorway will have both a mini skein and a full skein option- it's your choice! In the mini skein version you'll get 12 mini skeins that are 17 yards each. In the full skein version, you'll get 12 full skeins that are approximately 35 yards.

This years kits will feature new and unique custom project bags as well!! The mini skein version will come with a small pouch that is perfect for a small knitting project or, all the bits and bobs we knitters like to keep at the ready. The full skein version will include a large project bag that will be great for a sweater quantity of yarn or your favorite WIP. 

Two of the colorways - Chagall Meets the Sea and Starfall - will include 6 skeins (mini or full) in a beloved yarn we currently run (similar to Daisy Chain but all new colors and trims) and 6 skeins (mini or full) in a yarn we do not currently run (similar to a custom yarn we made for Knit Stars, called Star Spun). The Garden Trellis colorway will be all new colors of Daisy Chain with 6 of the skeins containing trim, and 6 without. For all three colorways, we're keeping with the thinner yarn (suggested needle size US 11 - US 15 / 8 mm - 10 mm) that we spun up in 2025. Don't worry--it's still chunky and very Knit Collage!

When you order a kit (either mini skein or full skein), you'll get a free knitting pattern to work with one mini skein version, and a sweater pattern that will work with the yarns of the full skein version of the Winter Solstice kit. Those patterns will be available on December 1, 2026. You'll also get access to a challenge knitalong experience that we'll run in early January. We have kicked off the past three years with this challenge and it's been a complete BLAST and such a fun way to begin the new year and jumpstart our knitting practice. We'll be knitting the pattern that will work with the mini skeins, but anyone who purchases any of the 2026 yarn calendars will get complimentary access to the January challenge.
