Today on the show I have Toni Lipsey, the crochet designer and creator behind TL Yarn Crafts. If you don’t know Toni well yet, this interview will make you fall in love with her. Her warmth, openness and authenticity have left me wishing she was my best friend…so let’s dive in! Stick around for the end where I’ll recap a few take aways.

Alrighty folks, I’m back! I love when Toni talks about how she picks herself up from a bad or even a depressing place. She actively shifts her thinking to the things that she’s good at, the things that she has confidence in. She takes time to appreciate them. I love how she uses the word actively and consciously here. That can make all the difference and get you back to a place that feels good. My meditaion work – which is embarrassingly pretty sporadic at this point, has helped me a little with this– I’m much better able to shift my focus and thoughts to a better place since starting this practice. This seems like something Toni has mastered. She has this quiet confidence about her that I find so inspiring and magnetic too!

Next up in the idea giving ourselves a little grace, being kind and not burning out on work – or whatever this might be in your life – it’s always something I need here and I’m so glad she highlighted it. She encourages us to be conscious of what’s going on with the people around us and not focusing too hard on ourselves so that we alienate our family and friends. For most of us, those are our biggest priorities – so what’s up with the tendancy to go all crazy work mode? The silver lining there is that when we are kind and gentle with ourselves, and when we’re more present with the people we love - we’re more relaxed and happier and of course then we do better work from that place. So this is an awesome concept to hold dear to! Thank you for that Toni.

To find out more about Toni, visit her website here and be sure to follow her on Instagram too. Below, a few pics of Toni and her gorgeous crochet creations that definitely do not look like anybody's crafty grandma's crochet! So that is all for this week! As always I’d love a review in itunes if you have any strong feelings about the podcast- even if they’re not strong feelings – anything, helps me know what direction to take. I’ve cherished reading all of the ones you’ve posted so far – THANK YOU!
