A spring time pattern favorite

posted by: Amy Small in stargazer silk, sweaters & tops patterns

As the weather warms up, it's worth taking time to revisit our favorite spring Knit Collage patterns. Without a doubt, mine is the Summer of Love Tank pattern by Susan Sheby. Even though it IS a sweater, it knits up so quickly on size 11 needles in a loose seed stitch. Our Stargazer Silk yarn creates a beautiful drape with all those tiny brass sequins adding a little bit of weight and sparkle to it. I also love the delicate crochet yoke detail. The pattern is one size but because of the open  stitch and loose silhouette it will fit most body types. The tank straps tie at the shoulder, making them easily adjustable too. Pattern available right here.

Our first ever Yarnbox!

January has been 1 exciting month here at Knit Collage. The best part has been getting to spill the beans about our collaboration with Yarnbox, FINALLY! If you're not familiar with Yarnbox, definitely take a look at their site and check it out. Yarnbox is a monthly subscription box that comes with at least 2 skeins of beautiful yarn and 2 patterns. They specialize in gorgeous indie dyers and specialty yarns (like ours!) that you might not have access too if your LYS isn't so awesome. It's a great way to get to know new yarn companies and try out all different types of yarn that may normally be out of your wheelhouse.  Plus, what knitter or crocheter wouldn't love to receive a surprise box of pretty yarn each month?!

This months Yarnbox comes with 1 skein of our Pixie Dust Mini and 1 skein of our Stargazer Silk yarn in it. Along with the yarn you receive both of these patterns, the knitted Snow Cap Hat by Cheryl Kubat and the crocheted Glittercloud Cowl by Hannah Thiessen. Both patterns are also available to download on Ravelry. I can't wait to cast on for both of them...AND, be sure to head over to Yarnbox and sign up to receive your monthly box of awesomeness! Below are pics of the the patterns featured in our yarns for Yarnbox.

The Stargazing Stripes Tank by Karen Clements

posted by: Amy Small in stargazer silk, sweaters & tops patterns

A few months ago the designer behind Knit 1 LA, Karen Clements, got in touch regarding a tank pattern idea she had for our Stargazer yarn. It seemed like a beautiful idea to me ~ well everything she designs IS beautiful!  2 months later, we have the Stargazing Stripes Tank pattern.  The pattern calls for 5-6 skeins of our Stargazer yarn and is available to purchase on Ravelry here. I especially love the tubular hem that creates a gorgeous clean finish and drape. This tank is perfect for a holiday party or night out on the town.
