Our first knit along ~ the rustic handspun poncho!
Join us for our first ever knitalong (KAL) while we knit the Rustic Handspun Poncho! I'm fired up to try a KAL, mainly because it gives me an excuse to connect to you and for us to all share our work more. One thing I so love about the knitting world is how encouraging and complementary knitters are too each other. I also love seeing patterns and colors taken in a new direction that go beyond what I could've imagined. This poncho is just perfect to kick things off - it's a little bit of a larger project and you will learn a few fancier skills, if you don't know them already. That said, it knits up quickly. The yarn and pattern are available through our site but I encourage you to also check out your local yarn shop to see if they carry the yarn there too. We have 3 shops participating in the KAL, Yarn Garden in Mendon, MA, Park Avenue Yarns in League City, Texas and the Little Knittery in LA, California. If you're nearby, contact them to join in!
The body of your poncho is knit in Sister yarn and the stripes in contrasting Cast Away yarn. The effect is a stunning mix of stitches, texture and color. This design features a rib neck and is knit top down, a total cinch to knit! The fit is oversized and loose, making it ideal for all body types. The body length is easy to change too and details on how to do that are given in the pattern.
