Welcome to the Spring 2025 Knitalong! Our knitalongs are a wonderful way to learn and grow in new ways. We accomplish this through in depth video classes that match the exact pattern you're working on, around the clock support from our expert coaches and accountability and connection from other creativity loving makers. It's about learning new things, diving deep into our most creative selves and of course, having a lot of fun along the way too!

The Spring 2025 knitalong will be hosted entirely on our app, which means everything is available in one, easy to navigate space.

About the Pattern:

The Mixtape Sweater is pure joy to knit! Let the yarn do the work for you to create colorful, textured stripes. Customize your sweater with neck and sleeve options. Choose a Scoop Neck or Mock Neck, and sleeveless or long sleeve. Garter stitch Cuffs and Hem add the perfect finishing touch for what’s sure to become a staple piece of your wardrobe!

Here's what you can expect in our knitalong:

~ Exclusive - These patterns will be exclusive to KAL participants for about 6 to 12 months. You will have access to all 8 KAL patterns and video tutorial through our Knit Collage app.

~ Round the clock help - Myself and the Knit Collage team are here to help you make your project a total success! Join Zoom sessions with our teachers and chat with everyone in the community via the Connect section in our app.

~  Video tutorials for our Knitting 101 and Crochet 101 courses. If you're newer to knitting or crochet, these will be super helpful! 

~ Mindfulness workshops ~ this season we will have a couple of dedicated zooms that will tap into the idea of waking up your creative, inner artist as well as relaxation through a simple restorative yoga class designed for everyone.

Kits will be available for one week only. You'll be able to purchase them from April 23-April 30th, 2025. After that, the patterns will not be available for another 6 to 12 months.

* Knitalong Guide with the pattern and all the info and resources you'll need to be successful with your project. You will receive the Welcome Guide and KAL Schedule as a PDF download within the app. The patterns for the KAL designs and greatest hits will available and accessible on May 6th, our official cast on day, not at the time of purchase.

* Muslin pouch, tapestry needle, 6 Allstitch flower stitch markers, a knitter's motto iridescent sticker, a tape measure and a pretty embellished ribbon from my India travels tying it all together.

Pattern Details:

Skill Level: Beginner Knitter

Materials for Sleeveless:

4 (4, 5, 5, 6) [6, 7, 8, 8] skeins Mixtape Yarn (54% wool / 40% cotton / 6% nylon;
approx. 100 yds (91 m) / 100g), shown in Kaleidoscope (sleeveless) and Wild Child (long sleeve).

Needle Size:

Size US 11 (8 mm) 40” / 100 cm circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge, (and, unless using magic loop for Sleeves and Mock Neck options, additional needles of the same size for your preference of small circumference knitting)

Size J US 10 (6mm) crochet hook (or 2 mm smaller than knitting needles) for optional Scoop Neck edging

Gauge:

11 sts = 5” / 12.5 cm and 18 rows/rnds = 4” / 10 cm in Stockinette Stitch Worked Flat with Selvedge and Worked in the Round, steam blocked

Note: Adjust needle size as needed to achieve gauge, then use a crochet hook aprox. 2 mm smaller than needles. It is recommended to check your gauge for both working flat and in the round to confirm that they are the same. Use different size needles for working flat and in the round if necessary to achieve the same gauge for both

Fit Note: 

Recommended to be worn with 7-12” / 17.5-30 cm of positive ease at the chest, depending on your preferred fit. Sleeveless sample is shown in a size 2 on a 34”/ 85 cm chest with 13.25” / 33 cm of positive ease. Long sleeve sample is shown in a size 2 on a 38”/ 95 cm chest with 9.25” / 23 cm of positive ease.
