This design is knit from the bottom up and features a drop shoulder and I-cord border along the cardi edges. You'll knit this style entirely in seed stitch and (if you choose!) wide colorful stripes. The body is worked flat to the shoulders in one piece and the sleeves are worked in the round. Needle Size:

Size US 17 (12.75 mm) 40” / 100 cm circular needle or size needed to obtain gauge and additional needles of the same size for your preference of small circumference knitting.

Additional/spare gauge-size needle for seaming the shoulders

Sizes:  1 (2, 3, 4, 5)[6, 7, 8, 9]

Finished Measurements:

38.5 (42.25, 46, 49.5, 53.25)[57, 60.75, 64.5, 68]” / 98 (107.5, 117, 125.5, 135.5)[145, 154.5, 164, 172.5] cm chest circumference

Fit Note:

Recommended to be worn with 6-10” / 15-25.5 cm of positive ease at chest. Rustic Rainbow Sample is shown in a size 2 on a 32” / 80 cm chest with 10.25” / 26 cm of positive ease. Mermaid Rainbow Sample is shown in a size 3 on a 40” / 100 cm chest with 6” / 15.25 cm of positive ease. 

Gauge:

6.5 sts and 11 rows = 4” / 10 cm in seed stitch worked flat, steam blocked.
