Woodlands Light Cable Earflap Hat is the lightweight version of the Woodlands Cable Earflap Hat. It’s funky, stylish, and light enough to wear all the way from Fall through Spring! Finish it your way, with tassels and a pom pom or more simple with plain i-cord ties. Either way you’ll have a fashionable transitional piece for the changing seasons!

Skill Level: Emerging Beginner Knitter - Intermediate Knitter

Materials:

2 skeins Spun Cloud Light yarn ~ (100% wool; approx. 210 yds / 100 g) shown in Moondrake Co. Limited Edition Hand-dyed Electric Seahorse

Pom pom maker (3 3/8” / 8.5 cm) or square piece of sturdy cardboard of the same length for making pom pom

Stitch holders or smooth scrap yarn (1)

Stitch markers (1) 

Tassel maker (4” / 10 cm) or rectangular piece of sturdy cardboard of the same length for making tassels

Needles:

Size US 6 (4 mm) 16” / 40 cm circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge

Cable needle

Tapestry needle

Size:

Circumference - 20” / 51 cm   

Length from Crown to Tip of Earflap - 12.5” / 32 cm

Length from Crown to Brim - 8.5” / 22 cm

Recommended to be worn with 0–3” (0–7.5 cm) of positive ease, to fit a 20–23” / 51–57.5 cm head circumference.

Gauge:

18 sts and 25 rnds = 4” / 10 cm square in stockinette stitch worked in the round, steam blocked.
