Today on the show I have Heather Walpole, the creator and owner of Ewe Ewe Yarns, a company that embodies fun happy, relaxed yarn and patterns. She dives into the sacrifices she’s had to make as a small business owner and my favorite, how befriending and surrounding yourself with people that inspire you can open you up to new possibilities and opportunities.

I love how real Heather got about the tough times she’s been through and the sacrifes she’s had to make to run her business. Not many people feel like they can really open up and share that stuff – it is hard to pay yourself sometimes and scary but she keys into an idea that I resonate with – that if it’s something that you feel called to do that is a joy to work on it, all those hard times are worth it and as we get more experienced hopefully we cope with them better. We get better at keeping that objective even keel I’ve been talking about and learning and planning for the slower seasons/mistakes/whatever it is!

Lastly – when she says I inspired her – I was so shocked and somewhat ackward when she said that – oops (!!!) but wow. I am so touched and still don't really believe that. She also had her sister living this example of a someone who had her own biz and loved it that I'm sure played a part. What makes me so happy hear is that just by living the life and doing the work that I feel called to do- I set an example. We all do it - I'm certainly not special in this regard, ha! But I think that’s so powerful and ties into what I’ve spoken about before – for all the parents out there. How by just being ourselves we set this example for our kids. Another amazing example is Stephen West - by expressing himself in such a creative and unique way – he sets this example for all of us and almost says just by being this way – hey you can do it too- whatever that looks like for you – do it, express yourself in your deepest way. There's no ego in it, no I’m hoping to impress anyone, just because it feels like a you and natural. So I truly love this idea! Let’s all make a point to stay open to new possibilies and to reach out to people in places we might like to be.
