Meet Cassie ~ Finding Community and Growing as a Knitter

 

Cassie first discovered Knit Collage after moving to Canada from Australia. She joined in on one of our knitalongs and found her way to Creative Knitters from there.

 

She says Creative Knitters "has been a fabulous way for me to up-skill my knitting."

 

 

"I discovered Knit Collage on Instagram and straight away I knew that was the vibe that I was trying to attract, that I was looking for, for my creative soul"

 

 

Moving across the world was a big life change for Cassie and finding community through Creative Knitters helped her adjust and find her people.

 

"You can meet people in a new town but you don’t always share the same likes," she said. "I needed to find people with the same creative likes as me."

 

 

“For me, the part of the membership I value the most is the connection to the Creative Knitters Community.”

 

While Cassie's favorite part of Creative Knitters is the community, she also values the knowledge of the her fellow members and the Knit Collage team. She credits them, and the resources within the membership, in helping her to continue to grow her skills.

 

“For me it’s hard to say what my favorite part about Creative Knitters is because I find the whole community amazing," she says. "But probably the wealth of knowledge among the other makers. It’s probably my favorite part.”

 

She says that knowing that you can ask any question and that you're in the right place has been a big win.

“The team is incredible, she says. "Any question you have will be answered.”

 

"I love being a part of a happy, bright, fun community where we cheer each other on and we celebrate little wins along the way with everyone regardless of what stage they’re at in their knitting"

 

The resources within Creative Knitters have also helped her gain confidence and learn new skills.

 

"On the backend of Creative Knitters, we have this incredible library of tools, videos, step-by-step instructions, patterns, all sorts of things, at our every need and desire,” She says. “That’s helped me a lot with learning new skills in new patterns that I’m making”

 

 

Moving to Canada from sunny Australia and facing the isolation of Winter was a challenge, but Creative Knitters helped make the transition easier. It helped her reconnect with her inner creative spark.

 

“I did feel that I was lacking something just for me and when I did find Creative Knitters and Knit Collage and I joined in, I was like ‘this is just what I need in my life’.”

 

 

Cassie says that Creative Knitters has given her the confidence boost to tackle new things and know that she can do it!

 

“It’s given me that confidence boost to give things a go," she says. “Now, I look at a pattern and think ‘oh, I can totally make that!’”

 

 

“I think that if I hadn’t found Knit Collage, I don’t know that I would have been brave enough to make a cardigan”

 

 

Cassie has no regrets about joining Creative Knitters and highly recommends it as a place to be inspired, learn new skills and find community.
