The Awesome Blossom is the handmade sweater I've reached for more than any other over the last year. I love its easy, oversized fit, the lightweight feel, and the giant flower on the back that somehow makes every outfit feel a little more special. Today, I'm excited to finally share the pattern and the video course with you. Our yarn kits come with the video course and pattern included - peruse them at the links below!
Awesome Blossom Cardi Video Class
For me, this sweater is all about that statement intarsia flower on the back. If intarsia intimidates you, the kits come with my step-by-step video class where I walk you through this design from start to finish. We break it down together and demystify this technique so that you can create your dream sweater with minimal frustration.
My other favorite parts of this design are the little details like the striped cuffs (made with our self-striping Mixtape yarn!) and chunky i-cord ties. I love how they tie in the color palette from the back and keep the whole design fun and playful.
You could even get creative like Lori, one of our beloved Creative Knitters members, and make a reversed version with Mixtape as the main color and Serenity boucle as the contrast! One of our sample knitters just made the most incredible reverse version and I just know I’m going to be living in it this fall. So good!
* Pottery + vintage lace and crochet doilies…say less right?! I went down that rabbit hole this week and here are some of the treasures I found - check them out here, here, here and here.
* A teeny bit of pattern inspiration today - here (after seeing @lou.dangit’s version, I’m in love! and I think I have yarn for me in my stash), here and here (I have to know how that last one is knit, the rib construction is so beautiful!)
I don’t have too too much to report this week because we have friends in town and I’m taking a little time off to be with them. I am getting in some time to work on finishing fall samples though and I cannot wait to share our new fall designs with you so soon. I am getting ready to share some exciting news with you too all about some change we are making within the business - stay tuned!
