Hug a tree in our latest knit pattern

posted by: Amy Small in glove patterns, sister yarn

I have another pretty pattern to share this week while the weather stays cold - the tree hugger mittens. This pattern features one of my favorite stitches- seed stitch. When knit in our thick and thin Sister yarn, the resulting look is a beautifully uneven and rustic texture. I especially love the natural, earthy-girl feeling they have. Either knit them with 1 skein of Sister or with 2 if you want to try the color tipped option. We knit ours in colors Driftwood and Ivory. You may notice that we are sadly out of many Sister colors right now. Most of them are due back in stock next week and are available for pre-order now. We'll make sure to ship the yarn out as soon as it arrives in! Pattern and yarn details here.

Winter Wonderland Patterns

Looking for the perfect hat and glove set to keep you cozy all winter or the perfect gift idea for a loved one? Look no further than our Winter Wonderland Hat and Glove patterns.

In these patterns, we mix our Sister yarn, which is a simply spun thick and thin yarn, with our embellished Gypsy Garden (or Rolling Stone) yarns. So you'll see all the trims and sparkly goodness from those yarns on the borders of your accessories.  You just need 2 skeins to complete both the hat and glove patterns.

The ribby stitch used on the body of the hat and gloves creates a beautiful chunky knit textures, sure to keep you warm all winter long. We knit the samples shown here in Sister color Driftwood and Gypsy Garden color Mermaid Cafe.

The Nara Fingerless Mittens

posted by: Amy Small in glove patterns, maharani silk

While prepping for our January tradeshow, I tasked our resident pattern designer Susan with the task of finding some beautiful patterns that would work well in our Maharani Silk yarn.  She went above and beyond when she unearthed this beauty, the Nara Fingerless Mitten pattern.  She whipped them in 1 skein of our Maharani Silk yarn and the end result is nothing short of stunning. I love the intricate stitch design. These would be perfect for to wear in early spring or fall weather too. To learn more about this project, visit our ravelry page here. We knit ours up in colorway Key Lime Pie.
