Updated Cast Away Bandana Cowl Pattern ~ Mini Version

posted by: Amy Small in cast away, cowl & scarf patterns

For the past 2 years, the bandana cowl shape, has been a serious favorite around here.  The shape is twist on the a typical circular cowl, making it just a little bit more unique. This year we are adding a new mini version to our popular Cast Away Bandana Cowl Pattern. If you choose to knit this version, your finished cowl will just be a bit shorter in length than the original, as shown in the photos below.  I wore this cowl countless time throughout the horrible Boston winter last year and it never failed to keep me nice and toasty. Additionally, this design is knit in a funky stitch I'd never tried out before that perfectly highlights our Cast Away yarn.

You'll need 2 skeins of Cast Away yarn to complete this project. When you buy this pattern you'll now receive the two pattern options, the small and large versions. All the details right here. We knit ours in Cast Away color Coconut Sparkle.

The Blue Lagoon Crochet Shawl

posted by: Amy Small in cowl & scarf patterns, maharani silk

Today we spotlight the Blue Lagoon Shawl by Lily Go, knit in our Maharani Silk yarn.  I came across this pattern at the industry tradeshow in June, when the shop owner of Fuzzy Goat, came into our booth wearing hers. I love the cobwebby delicate stitch pattern and knew we had to try one out for ourselves. So a few weeks ago, our resident crochet master, Tori Kendrew, whipped up this beauty. The pattern calls for a fingering weight yarn although we opted for our Maharani Silk, which is a sport weight. The final shawl is bigger and in my humble opinion, more stunning! I had so much fun discovering the stitch details as I photographed it and plan on stealing this for nights out on the town. You will need 3 skeins of our Maharani Silk to complete this shawl. We knit ours in colorway Bollywood Pink. All of the project details are also in Ravelry right here
