Spring 2026 Knitalong: Yarn + Design Deep Dive

Spring 2026 Knitalong: Yarn + Design Deep Dive

Thank you to everyone who watched my first knitalong (KAL) video - I’m excited!  If you missed that one, check it out here. Today, I’m sharing a new one where we take a closer look at how our yarns come to life and the amazing makers who create them. I’ll walk through each KAL design and what you can expect to learn - so many techniques and skills!

I also talk about how knitting together in community and prioritizing our own self care can benefit us all. From added creative freedom to being able to cope just a little bit better with any challenges or stresses we face in our own everyday lives, That impact is huge and it’s why I do what I do here at Knit Collage.

After the video, is a blog post detailing the fit, colorways and pricing of each KAL design. We’ve put together around 20+ stunning color options for each design! This is a great opportunity for you to check out the styles and ask questions early, before launch day on April 22nd. You’ll see our new spring yarn colors available there too.

Keep in mind that we have tons of support baked into our knitalongs. If these styles feel complicated, not to worry, we got you! Many past participants knit their very first sweater with us. When you join us for a knitalong, the video tutorials are yours forever to come back to any time. Designing, tech editing and testing each pattern takes a small village - especially the sweaters, most of which include 9 sizes. Along with the video tutorials that walk you through the trickiest bits of each pattern, our expert coaches will be there to help you in the moment, when you need it - live on zoom or in the community space in our app! When you buy just one kit, you will have lifetime access to all 8 of the patterns and their relevant video tutorials.

You can view all the color options and detailed design photos here. You do not need to have a Dropbox account, nor do you need to join the folder to see the content. Fit, size and pricing details listed out below! If you would like to see exact yarn usage per size for each design, we have that listed on each design's Ravelry page, linked below.

Option 1 ~ KaleidoWave Sweater by Sue Hislop and Amy Small
Knit in Mixtape yarn

The simple boxy construction of this drop shoulder, boat neck design allows the funky feather and fan lace stitch pattern to be the star of the show. Two colors of Mixtape yarn alternate throughout for maximum color play.

The front and back panels are worked flat, separately and seamed at the shoulders and sides of the lower body. Stitches are then picked up at the armholes for sleeves worked in the round with tapered decreases to a ribbed cuff. There is no neck shaping or shortrows for this design so it is fully reversible.
