Spring 2021 KAL Intro ~ The designs!
Hi there! I’m excited to share more style, color, fit and pricing details for our upcoming knitalong with you today. In the video below I walk you through the yarn, how it is made, how and where I teach you (!!!) and style info for each of the 4 chosen KAL designs. There's a lot! After the video, I dive into fit, pricing and color details in the blog post below.
Remember we will teach you everything you need to know to knit your piece from start to finish in the video tutorials. If these styles feel complicated, not to worry, we got you! If you stick to my rough schedule, which is totally achievable (big needles help!) you will complete your design in 8 weeks time or less. Many past participants knit their very first sweater with us. If these prices seem high to you, please remember that there is so much that comes along with this KAL than just your yarn and a pattern. The tutorials are a labor of love that myself and the whole team here, has tediously worked away on to make our best, most detailed videos to date. Designing, tech editing and testing each pattern takes a small village - especially the sweaters which all include 9 to 10 sizes. We also offer round the clock help just in case you need it. When you buy just one kit, you will have access to all 4 of the patterns and their relevant course videos, plus the bonus patterns (see below!).
Ok, let’s hop to it. Please keep in mind that we have a different way to pay on my site, called Afterpay. It allows you to pay in 3 interest free increments rather than 100% all at once. There is no extra interest or cost, just an alternative way to pay. I discovered this to be very helpful as a payment method on some of my favorite sites.
Lastly, like in the fall we'll be giving a way a few knitalong scholarships to those that are just unable to join in. You can email us at anytime (hello@knitcollage.com) to put your name on that list. If you wish to donate a kit to someone who wants to join in but can't, we'll have a way to do that too. We'll match any gift that is given so that your donation goes twice as far. Recipients are chosen at random.
Kaleidoscope Embroidered
The Kaleidoscope Embroidered Sweater is a twist on the Kaleidoscope Striped Sweater we ran during last fall's KAL. Worked top down, seamlessly and in the round, this yoke style sweater is ideal for beginner knitters looking to make their first sweater. The really fun part this time around will be teaching and running wild (creatively!) with the embroidery. We'll give you instructions on how to recreate the embroidery you see here, however feel free to make it your own!

Harley Sweater (five color option)
The Harley Sweater is an entrelac sweater knit with 5 of our unique handspun yarns. It is worked bottom up, both in the round and flat. The entrelac stitch looks trickier than it actually is! We are excited to introduce this stunning technique to you during the Spring KAL. The Harley is a true heirloom piece to treasure for years to come! We also have this in a three color, less expensive option too - details next.

Fit Note: Recommended to be worn with 0-10” / 0-25.5 cm of positive ease. The fit for this sweater is a personal preference. It can be worn with little to no ease for a more fitted look or more positive ease for a slouchy, oversized look. The sample on the right is shown in a size 1 on a 34” / 86.3 cm bust with 4” / 10 cm of positive ease. The second sample (on the left) is shown on a size 2 on a 39" / 99 cm bust with 11" / 27.9 cm of positive ease.

Harley 2.0 (three color option)
The Harley Sweater (Version 2) is just like the OG version but with three colors. This design uses two different colors of our Spun Cloud yarn and one color of our screen printed Wildflower yarn. Still stunning but a more financially friendly version of it's original sister design.

Dream Weaver Pillow
The Dream Weaver Pillow is for you if you'd like to dip your toe (or needles?!) into entrelac knitting but an entire sweater feels like too much. This is the smallest and easiest to finish project of the KAL bunch. One side of the pillow is worked in an entrelac pattern while the other side is worked in a simple garter stitch. Tassels adorn each corner of this design to add a little extra fun!

Love Letter Cardi
This romantic style is all about the tiny details. The cardi edges are a scalloped lace design, edged with a contrast Wildflower color. The waist cinches in with tailored rib and yarn over stitches. Mini skeins are striped into the sleeves in any order that moves you most! The Love Letter is just perfect for throwing over summer dresses.

Flower Power Cardi
The Flower Power Cardi is a fashion forward sweater with large flower pops. Using a side-to-side construction, this cardi uses the intarsia method of colorwork, adding big blocks of color without having floats of stranded colorwork. The sleeves have a modified dolman style fit. Rock your flower power with one big flower on the left sleeve and another on the right front!

Gumdrop Sweater
The Gum Drop Sweater is a fun, lightweight and colorful garment to wear in warmer temps. Worked from the top down seamlessly, this lovely little raglan sleeve sweater uses Serenity boucle yarn accented with mini-skeins of Wildflower yarn. The wide linen stitch hem recalls a stack of cheerful gum drops. There are options for different neck styles (Crew, Turtleneck, or Square) as well as options for sleeves (Straight and Puff). Feel free to mix and combine these options to make the perfect sweater for you!

High Fives Cardi
The High Fives Cardi is the perfect blend of preppy and chic for those days where you want to be stylish and comfortable. Worked from the top down seamlessly, this cardigan is a modified drop shoulder style that has a slightly oversized fit. Stranded knitting is used throughout the body to showcase an argyle colorwork pattern, while simple lace is worked on the shoulders and throughout the sleeves. The colorwork and lace are beginner friendly so that you can successfully create a fun cardigan that is a great transition piece to wear between the seasons.
