My most-loved, most-worn sweater of this year...
Every once in a while, a handmade piece earns a permanent place in my closet. The Awesome Blossom cardigan is that sweater for me. It's the one I've reached for more than any other over the last year.
It's light, cozy without being too warm, and the relaxed fit makes it incredibly easy to throw on. The oversized flower on the back turns even the simplest outfit into something that feels fun and creative.
In this week's YouTube video, I'm sharing the story behind the design, the different versions I've made, and all the creative ways you can make it your own. I'd love for you to come geek out with me. Watch the video below!
This has become my go-to travel sweater because it's just so easy to wear.
I throw it on with my favorite green track pants, and I instantly feel creative without having to think too hard about my outfit. It's cozy for long travel days, easy to layer, and somehow always feels like me.
We'll be releasing the pattern and kits next week, and I can't wait to share them with you.

In today’s video, I also share about variations you could try out to make this design completely your own, including switching the main color and contrast color yarns, as shown above! In this sweater, we used our Mixtape yarn in colorway Harvest Moon for the main color and Serenity in color Polar Bear for the contrast color flower. I love how it pops!
Next week, the kits go live and with each yarn kit comes a video course where I teach you exactly how to knit this design from start to finish. If intarsia has ever intimidated you - I GOT YOU!

We’re down to just the final few pieces left in our ongoing Sample Sale of finished knitwear. Check out what remains at the link below and maybe you can snag a handknit treasure for yourself or a loved one.

* Knitwear inspiration for the week here (MUST KNIT!), here, here, here, here and here!
* This message was something I needed to hear this week, check it out here. I’m trying to embrace this idea and where all my hand knits MORE!
* These are the drawstring pants that I’ve been living in for pretty much every night out this summer. Check out how I style them with my hand knits here.

This summer feels like trying to find that balance between meeting work responsibilities while also savoring the unstructured, free days with the kids and taking time off….oh and add in all the laundry, dishes and constant meal prep that comes along with three boys. I have no complaints but I have my moments, especially this week, of feeling really overwhelmed and anxious. We have house guests coming for a week and we have our big fall shipment arriving in about a month, so there’s a lot of prep work to do on all fronts.
In light all of this I’ve been percolating on making myself a little week in review photo collage or IG post where I highlight some of the best moments of the week. They’re things I might miss if I didn’t take a little extra time to appreciate them. So here’s a few highlights from last week that show all the good. Not shown, all those anxious moments, melt downs, messes - ha! Rest assured, they are there!
From top left moving clockwise: my middle son tried surf camp for the first time (and even went today in crazy wind and rain!!), a pic of sea glass treasures my youngest and I found one night, the Wildflowers Shawl I’m making for a friend (knitting most mornings at sunrise which is absolute heaven with coffee), my India trim collection that I’m using to design new yarns, my oldest and I trying out a new breakfast place and lastly watercoloring outside with my littlest. If this resonates, let me know.
Thanks for being here - so much! Please holler if I can help with anything yarn, knitting or pattern related.
Big hugs,
Amy
