Let your creativity run wild and have fun painting with yarn! Intended to be worn as a loose fitting cardi with tapered sleeves, the Modern Art Cardi is worked from the bottom up in pieces and uses intarsia along with different stitch patterns to create textured shapes throughout the entire piece. The shapes can be worked using the charts provided or if you’re feeling adventurous, you can create your own modern art!

* The yarn needed to complete this project, including 3 - 5 skeins of Spun Cloud yarn and 1 - 3 skeins of Dreamland yarn, 1-2 skeins of Wildflower yarn and 1 skein each of Cast Away and Daisy Chain (required yarn amount varies upon size you purchase).

Needle Size:
Size US 17 (12.75 mm) 40” / 100 cm circular needles for magic loop (or additional needles of the same size for your preference of small circumference knitting) for ribbing
Size US 19 (15 mm) 40” / 100 cm circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge (or additional needles of the same size for your preference of small circumference knitting)
Adjust needle sizes as necessary to match gauge. Note if you adjust your needle size, the smaller needle used for ribbing should be approx. 3 mm smaller than the needle used to achieve gauge.
