Kenyarn Collab Serenity Yarn
price: $42.00
Jake Kenyon of Kenyarn has done it again, this time putting his indie dyer spin on our Serenity base! Kenyarn is a small independent hand-dyed yarn business based in Providence, Rhode Island. Jake and I became friends a long while ago when we somehow convinced him to join in a knitalong! Since then he went on to design the Numerology Shawl which we knit as part of the Spring 2022 knitalong. Naturally, it felt like we needed to up our collab into the yarn realm, and that's how our Sister Ally AF collab came to be. We get repeated requests for more Ally AF, and this time we decided to try out a new base. Jake nailed it again, and we are delighted to announce Serenity Ally AF!
The Ally AF is a colourway inspired by the LGBTQIA+ community and all of the love and beauty within its embrace. Jake was inspired by light refracting through a prism and splitting into a thousand smaller rainbows. The dyeing process of each Serenity Ally AF skein takes around 16 hours from skein to dye pots to shipment and each hank is unique in its very own way, like each and every knitter.
To celebrate the collab, we have three fun patterns knit up to inspire you. We know it's so helpful with such a colorful yarn like this to see what it actually looks like when you start making with it! The three patterns are the Gum Drop Long Sleeve, the Buttercup Pullover (Serenity Ally AF as the CC) and a free beanie pattern that takes just one skein! You can also purchase kits in Ally AF for the Gum Drop Long Sleeve here and the Buttercup Pullover here.
About the yarn ~ Our cozy, light Serenity is a boucle yarn with a brushed effect that feels reminiscent of your favorite fleece jacket or a perfectly worn in sheep skin throw. This special colorway is all indie-dyed magic on a base of Polar Bear! Each skein is slightly different so if you plan to knit a project that is more than one skein, consider alternating skeins to ensure each skein and colors mesh together well.
By supporting our business, you support the work of the Indian women that spin our yarns with as well as our women-run, US based small business and of course the amazing Jake of Kenyarn.
