Favorite Pixie Dust Earflap Hat Pattern

So excited to share another fabulous free pattern today! I wore this hat at the last TNNA show and was asked over and over again for a pattern for it- so finally here it is!  It is a basic earflap hat in our sparkly, fluffy Pixie Dust yarn.  Danielle Shields, our pattern designer extraordinaire has come up the pattern for this.  The best things about it is that it only uses 1 skein! There are 2 versions here, the Forest Moon green sample is the pointy sample.  The Snowflake white hat is the rounded top sample.  It's also super warm and snuggly. Special thanks to our new photographer Molly Akin for shooting these gorgeous pics too!

Side view!

Above are all the pointy version.

Love this Snowflake rounded top version for a winter wonderland feel!

Detail shot of the Snowflake rounded top hat!

Visit to Yarns in the Farms on Oct. 27

post by Amy Small | knit collage studio space, yarns in the farms | Sunday October 23, 2011

Just a quick update on what's been going on recently at Knit Collage.  About 3 weeks ago we moved into an awesome new office in Charlestown, MA.  And our big yarn shipment arrived the day after we moved!  So it's been nonstop since then shipping out yarn to customers. Hopefully the yarn is making it to a LYS near you soon!  The space we're in is a renovated Steam Engine Whistle factory with exposed brick walls and giant windows, a huge upgrade from the home office I've been in for the last 10 months!  Here's a pic of the day we moved in with all of our yarn stock too! Most of those boxes are already gone.

Last week I drove up to Beverly Farms, MA to deliver a few boxes of yarn to an amazingly cute shop up there called Yarns in the Farms.  On October 27th (this coming Thursday!) from 5:00 to 7:30 I will be at the shop talking about the spinners in India and how all this crazy handspun yarn came to be.  Jill the owner of the shop, will have Indian appetizers and I'll bring along some free patterns. Of course there will be a lot of yarn! Jill is the creator of this amazing Mermaid Cafe skirt, this pattern will also be available there.

If you're in the area please join me!  For more info about Yarns in the Farms, visit their site at: http://www.yarnsinthefarms.com/  I'm going to post a new free pattern here soon- a 1 skein earflap hat in Pixie Dust- a total fave so stay tuned!
