About Knit Collage:
Knit Collage is the brainchild of Creative Director Amy Small who fell in love with hand spinning yarn the minute she picked it up back in 2005. Inspired by nature, fashion and traveling, she creates unique, vibrant yarns that reflect her cheerful approach towards the world. Based in Hong Kong, she taught a group of local women to craft the yarns on traditional spinning wheels. Bits of ribbons, sequins, flower appliqués, and anything that strikes her fancy are spun together with vibrant colors of wool, mohair and sparkling Angelina fibers. The raw materials and trims remain the same for each skein but no 2 yarns are completely alike because of their handmade nature. The wool and mohair fibers come all the way from Australia and South Africa. The six ladies we employ are part of the Hong Kong Lady MacLehose Community Centre. This organization helps disadvantaged and uneducated women who typically have trouble finding work, find flexible and secure jobs that supplement their family incomes.
At Knit Collage we hope to inspire your creativity, in whatever craft that may be, and make the world a better place along the way.
About Our Yarns:
One skein of yarn will quickly knit up into a hat on a pair of US size 17 or 19 needles. We suggest 2 or more skeins for a scarf.; For more inspiration and free patterns, please visit our blog at www.knitcollage.com/be-inspired.html
